Underwater analog habitat - Concept design and guidelines for the space research station

Master's Degree thesis

(June 2021, Faculty of Architecture, Silesian University of Technology)

Research on analog habitats enables the achievement of a fully independent environment in the future, which will certainly positively affect both space exploration and the comfort of life on Earth, in accordance with the principles of sustainable and responsible development. Solutions to achieve this goal are: circular economy, use of raw materials available on-site, the need to monitor all resources, combining architecture, nature and technology in a coherent and harmonious manner.

Qualitative research on space architecture during M01_Q1.21 Pandemic Analog Mission (LunAres)

Master's Degree thesis research

(January 2021, LunAres Research Station)   The qualitative research in the LunAres habitat during the PANDA mission has been developed by the architect, analog astronaut Wiktoria Dziaduła, as part of the work of BK (Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology, in the Rar5 Department) under the supervision of prof. PŚ, Klaudiusz Fross. Qualitative research was an expert assessment of the facility in qualitative categories: technical, functional, organizational, economic, and behavioural.

The Scientific Program of Space Architecture

Faculty of Architecture, SUT

(Ongoing). Interdisciplinary research on subjects connected with space architecture. Co-creating and leading the first in Poland  Interdisciplinary Scientific Students Club 'PolSl Space Force'  at Faculty of Architecture - exploring topics with students like self-sufficiency, hydroponics, space education, research and simulated missions in cooperation with Lunares Research Station.

GALLIVANTER - SpaceShip Earth

Overview Effect on Earth

SpaceShip Earth team

(December 2020) The project is carried out as part of the first in Poland artistic and scientific residence ART + Design + Science organized by the Science Now Foundation, in cooperation with inter alia: NOSPR, STGU, Art Electronica, ESA, NASA, CIID, Foundation for Polish Science. Team of 6 artists and scientists have worked on a topic related to the issue of Spaceship Earth - Fuller's idea. Research was based on the Overview Effect in space and on Earth. It has attempted  to simulate the experience of the Overview Effect thanks to sulf-sufficient cabin for universe observation. Team: Wiktoria Dziaduła, Anton Burdas, Maria Baczewska,

Space ergonomy guidelines

Faculty of Architecture and Faculty of  Robotics, SUT

(Ongoing) Project (in the Project Based Learning formula) aims to point out important factors in future space architecture design. The interdisciplinary team works on new guidelines for designing in space (in other-than-1G gravity).

Phoenix City on Mars

Mars Project Interdisciplinary Team

(March 31, 2020) The 2020 Mars Prize Design international competition which was organized by the Mars Society for the first city on Mars. International contest for the best design plan of a Mars city state of 1,000,000 people.

Martian Base - MB I

Mars Project Interdisciplinary Team

(March 31, 2019) The 2019 Mars Prize Design international competition organized by the Mars Society for the first 1,000-person base on Mars. The result of the project was a 20-page report on the concept of engineering, construction, energy, logistic, sociological and legal solutions for a 1000-person Martian base. The conceptual habitat can accommodate 30 people and consists of repeating modules based on a circle. An important aspect is the stage of the project, the use of 3D printing and prefabricated parts.
